With rising transport costs, many people are finding it economical to ride a bicycle. Cycling not only helps to save money, it also promotes the wellness of the rider.
However, some people are still not comfortable with the idea of having to sweat all the way while traveling. Some someone came up with the idea of electric folding bicycles.
First, let’s take a look at what a folding bicycle can do for you. A fold up bike means that you don’t have to risk having your bike stolen while you park it in a public domain. You can carry it with you into the bus, or in the train as you travel. When you alight, simply unfold the bike and continue the journey. This way, you can avoid being stuck in traffic jams, and you get to burn some calories.
Electric bicycles come with very small motors. They have to be small because they ar supposed to be light and portable. But is the power enough to provide a nice comfortable and functional ride? Will the motor overheat while you are riding? Don’t try to save money and invest in low quality motors. They will just overheat when you try to get more out of the motors – like when you are mounting up a steep slope.
Next, make a quick assessment of the battery. The battery is usually a rechargeable one. But how long does the battery last? If you are traveling longer distances, you may wish to buy extra battery packs so that you can replace them if they run out.
Step 3: How’s the weight?
This is the most important factor – the bike has to be light enough for you to carry around. Of course, it helps if you ar tall and strong. But what about the ladies? Can they carry the electric folding bikes around without problems?
